Monty Python on IFC

Tonight the Independent Film Channel begins a 6-part documentary on the Monty Pytho n comedy troupe, Monty Python; Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut), which, in the words of the LA Times, 'beats any Python documentary yet made for comprehensiveness and depth'. The doc, however, is only part Of IFC's celebration of Monty Python on the 40th anniversary of their formation in 1969; there will also be a number of Python movies this week as well. The title of tonight's first installment of Almost the Truth is drolly Pythonesque -- 'The Not-So-Exciting Beginnings'.
